Rescue efforts for a humpback whale stranded off Germany's northern coast have been abandoned after more than a week of attempts. The whale first became stuck on a sandbank on March 23, 2023, and was later rescued, only to become stranded again near Poel Island.

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in Singapore has ceased sourcing dolphins from the wild and suspended its captive breeding program. The facility is evaluating the future of over 20 Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, primarily captured from the Solomon Islands in 2008 and 2009.
